Parachute First-Aid Packet

Designed specifically for airborne troops, but also distributed to non-Airborne units, the parachute first-aid packet was a rubber-lined canvas pouch fitted with two canvas ties that allowed the packet to be fitted to a paratrooper in a variety of ways.

Contents of the packet included:

  • 1 Small dressing or bandage
  • 1 Field tourniquet
  • 1 Morphine Syrette
  • 1 Instruction sheet
  • (Sulfa powder?)

Two common locations for placing the parachute first-aid packet were the front of the helmet and the upper chest.
